Licensed electricians serving Southlake

Southlake is a longer drive for us. Neighbors Electric is based in Crowley, on the south end of Tarrant County, and Southlake sits up near the Denton County line on the north end – you’re looking at a real trip across the metro to get here. We’re telling you that plainly instead of pretending we’re around the corner, because we’d rather earn the job on the strength of the work than on a claim about proximity we can’t back up. We do serve Southlake, and when we take a job here we schedule it right and show up on time.

Homes in Southlake

Even newer homes need honest electrical service

A newer house doesn’t mean the electrical system is maintenance-free. We still get calls for tripping breakers, flickering lights under load, and panels that were installed correctly but are now carrying more than they were designed for as families add pools, workshops, and vehicles. If something in your panel feels off, circuit breaker repair and an honest look at the panel is a better first step than guessing.

We also see a fair number of Southlake homeowners who inherited electrical work from a previous owner’s remodel – a converted flex room, a finished-out attic bonus room, or a garage turned into a home gym, each with circuits added by whoever was doing the renovation at the time. Sometimes that work is fine. Sometimes it’s a mix of gauges and connections that a licensed electrician would never sign off on. If you bought a home in Southlake that had recent renovations before you moved in and nobody’s actually opened the panel to check what was done, that’s a reasonable thing to get looked at, not an overreaction.

Not sure what your home needs? Call (817) 533-0943 and we’ll tell you straight.

What we fix in Southlake homes

Established homes carrying inherited work

  • Circuit breaker repair
  • Panel inspections for aging service
  • Checks on wiring from a prior owner's remodel

Large, newer custom homes

  • Panel upgrades for pools, EVs, home theaters
  • EV charger installation
  • Whole-home generator installation
  • New circuits for outdoor living & remodels

Even a newer home needs an honest look at the panel.

Excellent experience with Neighbors Electrical. I messaged them late last night not expecting a response but to my surprise they got me scheduled for an estimate first thing the next morning. Mathew showed up promptly, provided a quote, we agreed on the price and he knocked out the work the same day. He was very professional and cleaned up after the work was complete. I will definitely call Neighbors Electric again if we need any electrical work down on our house.

Neighbors Electric is fantastic. On time, no nonsense and finished the job quickly. Matthew came and installed a 50 amp outlet for me and I was up and running in no time. Highly recommend and would definitely use again.

The team here was great and would not go anywhere else. We got a quote in the morning for an EV charger and they came back in the afternoon to completely install the charge sub panel and surge protectors. I was given the option that I needed and was told that I do not need an upgrade to upsell me. Once done the area was clean and genuinely looked like an upgrade on my house. I would recommend anyone to Neighborhood Electric, you will not be disappointed.

I discovered my outlet was burnt after someone "fixed" my leaking window ac unit. Gerardo arrived quickly and replaced it. He was very detailed and attentive. If you have any electrical issues in your home, I highly recommend this company.

Southlake’s homes are built for heavier electrical loads

Southlake, ZIP 76092, is one of the wealthiest cities in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, with median household income well above the metro average and a housing stock built to match – large custom homes, many of them newer construction, concentrated around Southlake Town Square and served by Carroll ISD. Homes at this scale typically carry bigger HVAC systems, pools and pool equipment, outdoor kitchens, home theaters, and increasingly EV chargers and backup generators, all pulling off the same panel that has to be sized to handle it.

What we run into most often in Southlake is a panel that was correctly sized for the house as originally built, now feeding additions the original electrician never planned for. A second EV in the garage, a detached casita, a pool remodel with new equipment – each one on its own might be fine, but stacked together they can push a panel past its rated capacity. A properly sized electrical panel upgrade is the fix, and it’s worth doing before you’re adding load to a system that’s already maxed out, not after.

EV chargers, generators, and whole-home planning

Given the income level and the size of the garages here, EV charger installation is one of our more common calls in Southlake. A Level 2 charger needs a dedicated circuit sized correctly for the vehicle, run to code, and tied into a panel that has the capacity to support it without derating everything else in the house. We also install whole-home generators for homeowners here who want the entire house, not just a few circuits, to keep running through a North Texas ice storm or an ERCOT grid alert. On a home this size, a portable generator and a tangle of extension cords isn’t a real backup plan.

New builds and remodels around SH 114 and FM 1709 also generate a lot of the wiring work we do in Southlake – home theaters, outdoor living spaces, and detached structures that all need circuits planned and run correctly the first time rather than added piecemeal after the walls are closed up.

Why licensing matters more, not less, on a home like this

Neighbors Electric holds Texas Electrical Contractor License #41555. In a city like Southlake, where home values and insurance scrutiny are both higher than average, unlicensed or unpermitted electrical work is a real liability at resale and during a claim. A licensed contractor pulls the permit, gets the work inspected, and stands behind it under the state’s licensing framework, not just a handshake. That protects you, and it protects the investment you’ve made in the house.

Flat-rate pricing, even for a longer drive

We quote flat-rate pricing before we start the work, and we don’t pad the number because Southlake is farther from Crowley or because the ZIP code has a reputation. The price reflects the job, not the address. You’ll know what it costs before you say yes, and it won’t change once we’re standing in your garage.

If it can’t wait

A panel that’s warm, a breaker that won’t stay reset, or an outlet with a burning smell needs attention now, not next week. Our emergency electrician service covers Southlake for exactly these situations.
