Licensed electricians serving Irving
Irving is a longer drive from our Crowley base than most of the towns we cover, since it sits on the Dallas side of the metroplex, past Fort Worth and Arlington, in Dallas County. We still run crews out there regularly, because Irving’s mix of aging 1960s-70s housing stock and newer construction around Las Colinas means the electrical work varies a lot from one block to the next, and that’s the kind of job a licensed electrician handles better than a handyman with a multimeter.

Homes in Irving
A City Built in Two Different Eras
Irving’s growth really took off starting in the 1960s, and a lot of the neighborhoods east of MacArthur Boulevard and around the older sections near Irving Boulevard still carry original wiring from that period. Homes from that era commonly ran 60-amp or 100-amp service, aluminum branch wiring in some cases, and panels that were never sized for central air, an EV charger, and a kitchen full of modern appliances all pulling at once.
Las Colinas and Valley Ranch, by contrast, are largely newer, master-planned development. Las Colinas alone covers more than 12,000 acres with its own mix of high-end homes and mixed-use construction near the Urban Center. Newer doesn’t mean problem-free. We still see undersized panels in homes that were built for a smaller electrical load than what’s actually running today, especially with EV chargers and home offices added after the fact.
Not sure what your home needs? Call (817) 533-0943 and we’ll tell you straight.
What we fix in Irving homes
1960s-70s homes east of MacArthur
- 60-amp or 100-amp original service
- Aluminum branch wiring in some homes
- Breakers tripping when AC and microwave run together
Las Colinas & Valley Ranch (newer)
- Panels undersized for today's actual load
- EV chargers and home offices added after the build
- Capacity for a pool, home theater, or second EV
We size the upgrade for where the home is headed, not just where it is today.

Getting Around Irving’s Highway Grid
Irving sits at the crossing of SH 183 (Airport Freeway), I-635 (LBJ Freeway) along the north edge, and SH 114 running northwest-southeast through Las Colinas, with the President George Bush Turnpike forming the other half of that X. It’s a well-connected city, and DFW Airport itself sits partly within Irving’s limits, which also means it’s a longer haul for us than the towns immediately around Fort Worth. We factor that into scheduling, and we’re upfront about it rather than pretending Irving is a five-minute detour.
What We’re Called Out For in Irving
The most common calls we get from Irving homeowners and property managers break down into a handful of categories:
- Electrical panel upgrades: swapping out old 100-amp panels or fixing panels with obsolete breaker types
- EV charger installation: common in Las Colinas and Valley Ranch, where commutes into Dallas make a home charger worth it
- Wiring repair: aluminum wiring remediation and rewiring in the older neighborhoods east of MacArthur
- Circuit breaker repair: breakers that trip repeatedly or won’t reset, especially in panels over 30 years old
- Whole-home generator installation: for homeowners who’ve dealt with North Texas ice storms and grid instability
- Emergency electrician service: for outages, burning smells, or sparking outlets that can’t wait
Why the License Matters More in a City Like This
TECL #41555 means we’re held to state licensing standards on every job, not just the big ones. In a city with as much variation in housing age as Irving (1960s ranch homes next to 2010s townhomes in the same zip code), that matters. A panel swap in a 60-year-old home has different code requirements than the same job in a house built last decade, and getting it wrong means a failed inspection or, worse, a fire risk that doesn’t show up until later.
We also carry the liability insurance a licensed electrician is required to carry. If you’re working with someone unlicensed to save money on the front end, you’re the one exposed if something goes wrong during or after the job.
Signs an Irving Home Needs an Electrician Sooner Than Later
Homeowners in the older parts of Irving tend to call us for the same warning signs: breakers that trip every time the microwave and AC run at once, outlets that feel warm to the touch, lights that dim when a large appliance kicks on, or a panel with a mix of breaker brands that suggests past patchwork repairs. None of those are things to wait out. In a home from the 1960s or 70s, a warm outlet or a breaker that won’t hold usually points to a wiring problem behind the wall, not just an overloaded circuit.
In Las Colinas and Valley Ranch, the more common issue is capacity, not age. Homeowners add a pool, a home theater, a second EV, or a home office with a full server rack, and the panel that was fine for the original build just isn’t rated for it anymore. We size the upgrade for where the home is headed, not just where it is today.
Working Around Irving’s Permit and Inspection Process
Irving handles its own permitting and inspections separately from Dallas, Fort Worth, or the county, so an electrician who doesn’t regularly work in the city can end up guessing at what the inspector expects. We pull the right permits for panel upgrades and major rewiring jobs so the work passes inspection the first time, which matters if you’re planning to sell or refinance down the road.
Flat-Rate Pricing, No Guessing
We quote a flat rate before we start work, whether that’s a panel upgrade in a Las Colinas high-rise-adjacent home or a wiring repair job in one of Irving’s older neighborhoods. You won’t get an estimate that turns into a bigger number once we’ve opened the wall.
