Air Conditioning Wiring
Neighbors Electric handles air conditioning wiring for homeowners in Irving, and because we work out of our shop in Crowley, just south of Fort Worth, Irving and the rest of Dallas County are well within the area we cover week in and week out.
In established Irving homes, AC wiring from the original install may not match a newer, larger unit. Replacing the system is the right time to check the circuit.
What AC wiring involves
Every condenser and air handler has a nameplate listing its minimum circuit ampacity and maximum breaker size. We wire a dedicated 240-volt circuit to match it, install the outdoor disconnect within sight of the unit, and make sure the panel can carry the load. When you replace a unit, we check that the existing circuit still matches the new one, since a larger or higher-efficiency system can have different requirements.
- Dedicated circuit sized to the unit’s nameplate
- Outdoor disconnect installed within sight of the unit
- Circuit check when a unit is replaced
- Coordination with your HVAC contractor
Why it pays to use a licensed electrician in Irving
Electrical work in Irving and across Dallas County is permitted and inspected for a reason. A licensed electrician pulls the permit, does the work to the National Electrical Code, and leaves you with a job that is on record and safe. We diagnose the problem first and show you what we found before we quote the fix.
Licensed, local, and up front on price
Neighbors Electric is licensed in Texas (TECL #41555), and we pull the permits air conditioning wiring requires. Our pricing is flat-rate and honest: we look at the job, explain what we found in plain language, and give you the price in Irving before any work begins. Nothing gets done until you approve it.

Gerardo is excellent! Came in for what was probably a simple light change but found a much bigger issue that could have damaged my home. 10/10 would recommend. So kind and accommodating!
Gerardo and his team were amazing. He told me what I needed, how to get it done, and made my home better and safer when other electricians did not bother to look. Thank you Gerardo for my panel upgrade and new circuits.
