Homes in Everman
A Small, Older Community With Real Wiring Age
Everman is a compact city, under two square miles, in Tarrant County near Interstate 820, and most of it grew up in the mid-20th century as the area around south Fort Worth expanded. That means a lot of Everman’s housing stock is older than what you’ll find in the newer subdivisions farther south, and older housing in this part of Texas usually comes with one of a few issues: a panel that’s been maxed out for years, wiring insulation that’s cracked or brittle, or outlets that were never grounded to begin with.
Everman ISD serves the community with a full set of elementary, intermediate, junior high, and high school campuses, and a lot of families here have been in the same home for a long time, sometimes decades. That’s not a problem by itself, but it does mean the electrical system in a lot of Everman houses hasn’t been touched since it was installed. If you’ve never had your panel inspected, or you’re not sure whether it’s copper or aluminum wiring behind your walls, that’s worth finding out before you add anything new to the load, not after. Everman’s history includes an early role as a WWI-era flight-training site, and the town grew steadily through the mid-20th century as the surrounding area developed, which is part of why so much of the housing stock here dates to that same general period rather than to the last decade or two.
Everman’s small footprint also means most homes sit close together on modest lots, which is worth mentioning because it affects how we plan outdoor and service-entrance work. Running a new service line or adding a generator transfer switch on a tight lot near Sublett Road takes different planning than the same job on a quarter-acre lot in a newer suburb, and it’s the kind of detail that’s easy to get wrong sight unseen.

- Wiring repair for older aluminum or ungrounded circuits
- Circuit breaker repair when a breaker trips repeatedly or won’t reset

Why Being Close Actually Helps
Because Everman is right next door, we’re not scheduling you two weeks out or driving an hour to get there. We also know what to expect walking into a house near Sublett Road or Everman Parkway: a panel that’s probably original, wiring that may not match current code, and a household that’s likely added more electronics and appliances over the years than the system was designed for. That familiarity means less time spent diagnosing and more time spent fixing.
It also means we can be practical about sequencing a job. If a full rewire isn’t in the budget right now, we can talk through what actually needs to happen first, like replacing the panel, versus what can reasonably wait, and we can come back for the second phase without treating every visit as a fresh dispatch fee from across town.
What We Look For in an Older Everman Home
On a service call in Everman, we start with the panel: original or replaced, the actual amperage of the main breaker, and whether the grounding system is intact. From there we check individual circuits, looking for the kind of wear that shows up after decades of use, warm outlet covers, discolored switch plates, breakers that hum or feel hot to the touch. A lot of that is invisible until someone actually opens the panel and checks, which is exactly why we don’t recommend skipping an evaluation just because nothing’s tripped yet.
Flat-Rate Pricing, Explained Up Front
Before we touch a single wire, you’ll know what the job costs. That price doesn’t move once we start, and it doesn’t matter if the job takes longer than expected because a previous repair was done wrong. Neighbors Electric is licensed under TECL #41555, and that license is the only thing we’ll put in front of you as a credential, because it’s the one that’s actually verifiable and actually required.
