Licensed electricians serving Lakeside
Neighbors Electric is based in Crowley, on the south side of the Fort Worth area, and Lakeside sits clear on the other side of it, a small town of about 1,650 people on the south shore of Lake Worth in northwest Tarrant County, ZIP 76135. Getting from Crowley to Lakeside means working around or through Fort Worth on 820 and Jacksboro Highway, so it’s a real trip, not a quick hop. We’re upfront about that. If you book a Lakeside call, we build the drive into the schedule and show up when we say we will.
Lakeside is a legitimate town in its own right, not just a lake subdivision. It’s grown fast, up 26% in population between the 2010 and 2020 census, and it’s served by Azle ISD along with the rest of the Lake Worth shoreline communities. The housing stock reflects that growth: a mix of older lake-era cottages that have been added onto over the decades, and newer homes built on lots that back up to the water or sit a short walk from it.
Lakeside borders the city of Lake Worth and sits a few minutes from Azle and White Settlement, so it functions as part of that whole lakeshore cluster rather than as an isolated town. Streets here are tighter and lots smaller than what we see out in Wise County, but plenty of homes still have a detached garage, a boat or RV parked on a side pad, or a workshop that never got wired to code when it was built.

Homes in Lakeside
What the Electrical Work Actually Looks Like in Lakeside
Older homes near the lake tend to carry electrical systems that were adequate for a smaller house decades ago and haven’t kept pace with what a modern household actually draws: window units swapped for central air, a second refrigerator in the garage, a hot tub added out back. That’s where we run into undersized panels, aluminum branch wiring from the 60s and 70s, and outlets that were never grounded in the first place. Newer construction on the same streets usually has more headroom, but even there we still see gaps: a detached garage or workshop with no dedicated circuit, or a panel that’s already maxed out before anyone’s added a generator or an EV charger.
Because a fair number of Lakeside properties sit close to the water, we also pay attention to corrosion and moisture exposure on outdoor devices: GFCI outlets that have failed quietly, exterior fixtures with cracked seals, that kind of thing. It’s not dramatic work, but it’s the sort of detail that gets skipped when a job gets rushed.

Why the License Matters
Texas requires a state electrical license to legally perform this work, and Neighbors Electric carries TECL #41555. That license means our work has to meet code, and it means there’s actual accountability if something goes wrong. On a lot of the older Lakeside homes we open up, we find work that was clearly done by someone without a license, junction boxes buried behind drywall, splices with no box at all, double-tapped breakers. It’s not always dangerous the day it’s installed. It becomes dangerous years later when nobody remembers it’s there.
Hiring a licensed electrician isn’t just paperwork. It’s the difference between someone who’s accountable to a state board and an inspection process, and someone who isn’t. On panel work in particular, a licensed electrician pulls the permit and gets the job inspected, which matters more than it sounds like it would when you go to sell the house or file a homeowner’s insurance claim down the line.
Flat-Rate Pricing
We quote the job before we start it, not after. You’ll know the number before any tool comes out of the truck, and that number doesn’t move because the job turned out to be more involved than it looked on the surface, and that’s a risk we take on, not you. No hourly clock running while we figure things out, no surprise line items on the invoice. If we open a wall or a panel and find something worse than expected, we stop and talk to you about it before we touch anything else, not after the bill’s already run up.
